ABOUT RUSH
Riley Hearn - HEAD COACH, RUSH HOCKEY
Born in Calgary, Riley grew up playing for the Glenlake hawks and Calgary Royals. Riley went on to sign with the Calgary Canucks of the AJHL follwing his U18AAA year, where he would spend 3 years, capping off his junior career with an AJHL championship, Centennial Cup appearance, and Hockey Canada’s Most Sportsmanlike Player Award.
Riley has now made the transition from playing to coaching as an assistant coach with the Calgary Canucks, specializing in Player Development, Skills, and Video Analysis.
“Hockey has been my life since I took my first stride 18 years ago. Along with playing, I quickly gained a passion for coaching as well. Starting in 2016, I've spent many years assisting coaches, camps and programs around Calgary, before starting Rush in January of 2023.
“As my passion for the game grew, I dedicated myself to hockey, finding myself training year round. I discovered that I improved and learned the most in an individual or small group setting where I could get the repetition and attention on the areas needing improvement. This is the foundation of rush. We believe that athletes develop and thrive in a small group setting, surrounded by passionate coaches.”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
At rush, we take a different approach when it comes to registration for our programs. This is to ensure an enjoyable experience for all players!
early/pre registration opens around mid to late november for the following spring and summer. our pre registration allows us to gauge interest in programs and puts your name on our list to register first once our ice and locations are confirmed (our pre registration does not guarantee a spot for your player).
Once our ice is confirmed, we open up our full registration. we will send out invites with registration info for our invite programs, and open our online registration for our summer camps.
-
When it comes to our online payment portal (citrus), we only offer deposit options to secure your spot. This is to ensure low additional fees for you and your player, and helps keep our camps affordable. E transfers and cash payment information are usually sent out around 1 month before our camp date.
-
Full payments made are refundable up until 14 days before the start of the event, minus a small admin fee ($5 transfer fee).
Deposits are non refundable if requested within 14 days before the start of the event, but the remaining payment past the deposit will be refunded up until 7 days before the event. Any refunds requested within 7 days of the start of the camp are non refundable unless an injury or non-controllable reason for absence is accepted.

Generally speaking, on ice sessions range from $35 to $55 depending on the amount of skaters on the ice, and whether the ice is prime time or non prime time. We pride ourselves on providing value for our players, and using our flexible pricing model based on number of players, cost of ice, and time of year helps us keep the value high!

Our spring program runs late march to early june, with roughy 20-25 ice times. Our spring program focuses on rep based skill days, game situational skill days, and game situations. Our spring program does have access to our Rush HQ app.
Our HPT program runs all summer long, offering on ice, off ice, hockey iq, and access to our RUSH HQ app. This is an application based program to ensure small groups and players who are looking to make a big step in there game throughout the summer.
Our RHD Summer League is one of our most popular programs, offering players game scenarios throughout the summer in a fun 4v4 league style. we offer U13, U15, U18, and Junior/College options.
Our summer camp options differ year to year, but generally speaking, they run mid July to Late august ranging from full day camps, half day camps, tryout prep focused camps, and position specific options.
